During both 2020 and 2021, the effects of the Covid-19 worldwide pandemic was felt here in New Zealand, most noticeably by Lockdowns required by the government which kept us at home and galleries closed. After Lockdown, the sun came out and we all made new work and had group exhibitions. I made 2 new series: the first, titled ‘toil and trouble’ , was a group of pendants made by coiling and twisting copper and silver wire, a sort of rosary action during troubled times; the second, titled ‘delicate treats’, was the antidote – pendants and brooches made from an old silver plated nurses belt which I took apart and then manipulated. At the end of 2021 we had our annual Maire Street market and also Nan’s Open day (after a 3 year break). In 2022 I made a second series of ‘delicate treats’, using belt fragment to make some pendants.
