‘What can’t be left behind’
This exhibition celebrates the reminders, particularly foraged and found materials. They are collected from around the world, my local environment and my workshop and transformed them into works of art.
Together they become a piece of wall art – where the individual items of jewellery can be removed and worn or enjoyed as a whole.
The process began with making ‘forage brooches’. When you tidy up, move house or country – what do you choose to take with you? When you travel, do you pick up a stone off a beach, or a souvenir to take home? How do you choose these reminders and memories?
I then gave them context and stage using art paper top framed with a unique punga shard – no longer individual jewellery pieces but complemented by jewellery ‘friends’, textures and geometrical shapes.
The exhibition takes place simultaneously in 2 locations:
Rice Pudding Gallery, 91ConstableSt. Wellington – 11 works; opening 05 March, then 06-08 and 13-15 March 2026; https://www.instagram.com/ricepudding91/?hl=en
